Answer:

Let C.P. of each heater is Rs. 100

For 1 st

heater

Gain =5%

Then C.P= S. Px100/Gain x percentage

=3900x100/100+5

=399000/105

=₹3800

For 2 nd

heater

Loss =5%

Then C.P= 3900x100/100-5

=399000/95

=₹4200

S.P of two heater =3990×2= Rs. 7980

C.P. of two heater =3800+4200= Rs. 8000

∴Loss=C.P−S.P.=8000−7980= Rs. 20

Loss %= 20/7980x100

=100/399

=0.25%
