Greetings..!

Case I , S.P = Rs 924

Gain percent = 20%

So, C.P = (100/100+Gain%)*SP=(100/120)*924=  Rs 770

Case II , S.P = Rs 924

Loss Percent = 20%

So, C.P = (100/100-Loss%)*S.P = (100/80)*924=  Rs 1155

Total C.P = 1155 + 770 = Rs 1925

Total S.P = 924 + 924 = Rs 1848

As, C.P > S.P , its a loss

Loss = C.P - S.P = Rs 77

Now, Loss Percent = (Loss/C.P)*100=(77/1925)*100 = 4%

Answer : He losses 4 % on the whole transaction.
