\sf\underline{Step-by-step \: explanation}

To know the account, we have to find the CP

In the first case,

Using direct formula,

CP =

 \tt\dfrac{100}{100 \:  +  \: p \: \%}  \:  \times  \: sp

Solving for the same,

x =

 \tt\dfrac{100}{120}  \:  \times  \: 924

[100 + P% = 100 + 20 = 120]

After Cancellation...

Rs. 770 [CP]

2nd Case,

Formula for loss,

CP =

 \tt\dfrac{100}{100 \:  -  \: l \: \%}  \:  \times  \: sp

Solving,

 \tt\dfrac{100}{80}  \:  \times  \: 924

After Cancellation..

Rs. 1155

Now, let's count the transactions

First Case,

CP = Rs. 770

SP = Rs. 924

Profit = Sp - Cp

Profit = Rs. 924 - Rs. 770 = Rs. 154

Profit Transaction = Rs. 154

Second Case,

Cp = Rs. 1155

Sp = Rs. 924

Loss = Cp - Sp

Loss = Rs. 1155 - Rs. 924 = Rs. 231

Loss Transaction = Rs. 231
