Let the man's salary be x rupees ,then
20% of his salary =20x/100=x/5.
and 50% of his salary =50x/100=x/2.
Now after paying the rent of 1000 rupees he left with rupees 2000.So
x-{x/5 + x/2 +1000}=2000
x-{(2x+5x+10,000)/10}=2000
10x-2x-5x-10,000=20,000
3x=30,000
x=10,000.
Hence the salary of the man is Rs.10,000.
So the correct answer is Option B.
