Given :

The percentage of over head amount on cost price = 10%

The market price percentage = 20 % above c.p

The discount percentage = 10 %

The selling price of article = Rs 594

To Find :

The profit amount

Solution :

Let The cost price = c .p

20 % is mark on c. p

And discount % = 10 %

So, Profit % =  ( 20 - 10 - \dfrac{20 \times 10}{100}  ) %

                  = ( 10 - \dfrac{200}{100}  ) %

                  = ( 10 - 2 ) %

                  = 8 %

So, The profit percentage = 8 %

Again

∵     Profit % = \dfrac{selling price - cost price}{cost price}

Or,  8 % = \dfrac{594- c.p}{c.p}

Or,   \dfrac{8}{100} = \dfrac{594}{c.p} - 1

Or,  0.08 + 1 = \dfrac{594}{c.p}

Or,  \dfrac{594}{c.p} = 1.08

∴  c . p = Rs \dfrac{594}{1.08}

Or, Cost Price = Rs 550

Now,

Profit = selling price - cost price

            = Rs 594 - Rs 550

            = Rs 44

Hence, The profit on the article is Rs 44  . Answer
