Given :

A man spends 20% of his income on food 40% of his income on education 10% if his income on transportation . finally he saves 9000 per month

To Find:

Find his monthly salary.

Solution:

Let his monthly salary be x

He spends 20% of his income on food

He spent on food = 0.2x

He spends 40% of his income on education

He spent on education  = 0.4x

He spends 10% on transportation

He spent on transportation=0.1x

Total expenditure  = 0.2x+0.4x+0.1x=0.7x

Savings = x- 0.7x=0.3x

We are given that he saves 9000 per month

So, 0.3x=9000

x=\frac{9000}{0.3}

x=30000

Hence His monthly salary is Rs.30000.
