A man spends 35% of his income on food, 25% on children's education and 80% of the remaining on house rent. What percent of his income is he left with?

Let his income be x

so, Expenditure on food = 35x/100 = 0.35x

and, Expenditure on  Education = 25x/100 = 0.25x

Remaining Income = x - (0.35x + 0.25x) = 0.4x

Hence, Expenditure on house rent = 0.8*0.4x = 0.32x

so, income left = x - (0.6 + 0.32) = 0.08x

Hence, 8 % income is left.
