There is a mistake in the question because if we add 4/5, 1/2 and 1/5, we get an improper fraction as an answer.
i.e. 4/5 + 1/2 + 1/5
After taking L.C.M. and then solving, we get 15/10

Suppose the monthly income is Rs. x. Then we will subtract 15x/10 (spent amount) from x (monthly income). The answer we get after subtracting is in negative. So instead of 4/5, it must be 1/5 spent on house rent.
How a person can spent 80 % (4/5 part) of his monthly income on house rent ? It is literally impossible.

Solution according to 1/5 spent on house rent.

Let the monthly income be Rs. x
⇒ x/1 - (x/5 + x/2 + x/5) = 400
Taking L.C.M. and then solving it, we get.
[10x - (2x + 5x + 2x) ]/10 = 400
(10x - 9x)/10 = 400
x/10 = 400
x = 4000

So, the monthly income is Rs. 4000
