His monthly income is ₹12000.

• Given data :

Income of 3 months = Expense of 4 months.

Total annual income is rupees 36000.

• Let, his monthly income = ₹ x (assume x as a variable to calculate the total amount of his monthly income)

• So,his income of 3 months will be

= 3×x

= ₹ 3x

• And,as per the conditions mentioned in the question,his expense of 4 months will be

= ₹ 3x

• So,his expense of one month will be = ₹ 3x/4

• So,his monthly savings will be

= (Monthly income - Monthly expenses)

= (x- 3x/4)

= ₹ x/4

• So,his yearly savings will be

= x/4 × 12

=₹ 3x

Now, if we compare our calculated yearly savings and the yearly savings given in the question , then we will get the following equation :

3x = 36000

x = 36000/3

x = 12000

So,his monthly income is ₹12000. (Answer)
