Let his salary = 100

House Rent = 100 * 2/5 = 40

Food = 100 * 3/10 = 30

Conveyance = 100 * 1/8 = 12.5.

Total Salary = 100

Savings = 1400

100 - 40 + 30 + 12.5 = 1400

17.5 = 1400

1 = 1400/17.5

100 = (1400 * 100)/17.5 = 8000.

Total Salary = 8000.

Expenditure on food = 8000 * 3/10 = 2400.

Expenditure on conveyance = 8000 * 1/8 = 1000. is answer
