Question:

  • A Man spent 10% of his money and after losing 30% of his remainder he had 1260 rupees left. How much money had he at first?

To Find:

  • Money he had at beginning

Given:

  • Spent = 10 %
  • Losed = 30 %
  • Remaining = 1260

Solution:

  • Let the amount be x.

amount \: he \: spent \:  = x \times  \frac{10}{100}

 = 0.1x

Amount of remainder money = x - 0.1 = 10x

Amount of money he lost = 30 % of 10x = 10x * 30/100 = 0.27 x

Amount left with the man = x - 0.1x - 0.27x = 0.63x

0.63 x = 1260

x =1260/0.63

x = 2000.

Answer:

  • Hence, the money he had at first is Rs. 2,000.
