x = 12 \frac{ \frac{1}{2} }{100}x + 140x=1210021x+140

Now,

x = \frac{25}{2} \div 100x + 140x=225÷100x+140

Then,

x = \frac{25}{2} \times \frac{1}{100}x + 140x=225×1001x+140

x = \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{x}{4} + 140x=21×4x+140

x = \frac{x}{8} + 140x=8x+140

x = \frac{x + 1120}{8}x=8x+1120

8x = x + 11208x=x+1120

8x - x = 11208x−x=1120

7x = 11207x=1120

x = \frac{1120}{7}x=71120

x = 160x=160

Therefore, The money he had at first was ₹160.
