Let the savings be x₹
So,
X-2x/7 = 1000
5x=7000
X= 1400

Dear Student,

● Answer -

Total savings of the man = 1400 Rs

● Explaination -

Suppose the man's savings are x.

Given that 2/7 of the savings i.e. 2x/7 are spent.

Savings left = x - 2x/7

1000 = 5x/7

x = 1000 × 7/5

x = 1400 Rs

Hence, total savings of the man initially are 1400 Rs.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
