Answer:

Amount invested in second company is 2250.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'X' be the remaining money the man had.

Out of this 30% he gave to son; ie (30/100) × X = 0.3X

Daughter's share is 40%; ie (40/100)×X= 0.4X

Difference between shares of share between son and daughter is 2100.

ie,

0.4X - 0.3X = 2100

0.1X = 2100

X = 21000.

Money remaining after giving shares to son and daughter is,

100 - (30+40) = 30% of X

ie (30/100)×2100 = 6300

This, 6300 is invested in the ratio 2:5:7

∴ Amount invetsed in second company = (5/14) × 6300

= 2250.
