A man standing in front of a wall produces a sound and hears an echo after 3s. He walks x km away from the wall and produces the same sound. Now he hears an echo after 5.25s. Calculate the distance he walked away from the wall. (Speed of sound in air is 340 m/s).

Distance=speed×time
Distance of person from wall, D= speed of sound×(time taken by sound×1/2)..
{sound first travelled from man to wall then comes back to person that means sound travelled twice distance so it time is divided by 2}
D=340×3/2
D=510 mtr
Now, when he moved away
D=340× 5.25/2
D=892.5 mtr
Distance moved by man =892.5-510
=382.5 mtrs=.382 km
