Say, M is the plane mirror, O is the object and I is the image. Now, the distance of the man from his image is '6 m' and also we know that the distance of the image from the mirror is same as the distance of the man from the mirror, say distance between the man and the mirror is 'n'. Thus, distance between the image and the mirror will also be 'n'. Also, from the attachment it is clear that:
n + n = 6
2n = 6
n = 3 metre.
Hence, the correct answer is (A) 3m.
