Explanation:

The mirror was placed within distance of 10 m from mam at initial stage and as we shift mirror 2 m towards man so distance between the initial position and final position of plane mirror will be 2m so distance between position of initial and final image of man will also be 2 m so 2m is answer

Given : A man stands 10 m away from a plane mirror. T

The mirror is moved 2 m towards the man,

To find :  out the distance between the position of initial and final image of the man

Solution:

Assume man is standing at 0.

Plane mirror is at 10 m

then Initial image will be at 20 m

As distance of object and image from Mirror are equal but in opposite directions

The mirror is moved 2 m towards the man,

Hence Now Plane mirror is at  8 m

Then Final image will be at 16 m

Initial Image = 20 m

Final Image = 16 m

the distance between the position of initial and final image of the man

= 20 - 16

= 4 m

the distance between the position of initial and final image of the man is 4 m
