Given:

A man stands in between two parallel cliffs and explodes a cracker. He hears first echo-sound after 0.6 sec and second echo after 2.4 sec.

To find:

Distance between two cliffs.

Calculation:

Let distance of man from first cliff be d1.

 \therefore \: 2 \times d1 = 0.6 \times 336

 = > \: d1 = 0.3 \times 336

 = > \: d1 = 100.8 \: m

Let distance of man from second cliff be d2.

 \therefore \: 2 \times d2 = 2.4 \times 336

 = > \: d2 = 1.2 \times 336

 = > \: d2 = 403.2 \: m

So , distance between two cliffs be d:

 \therefore \: d = d1 + d2

 = > \: d =100.8 + 403.2

 = > \: d =504 \: m

Hence , final answer is:

Distance between two cliffs is 504 m.
