A man starts from his home ‘A’ travels 2 km towards east to reach position ‘B’ in 1 hour, then takes right turn and travels 2 km in 0.5 hrs to reach position ‘C’. He takes right turn and travels 1 km in 0.5 hrs to reach position ‘D’. Find out (i) Distance travelled by man during his journey. (ii) His Displacement on reaching position D.

CD=5AB=(5×3)KM=15KM

Draw AE ⊥ CD.

Then CE = AB = 3 km and

DE = (CD-CE)=(15-3)Km = 12 Km.
