Salary after 4 years of service =Rs. (x+4y)

Salary after 10 years of service =Rs. (x+10y)

∴x+4y=1500 (i)

x+10y=1800 (ii)

Substracting equation (i) from equation (ii), we get

6y=300⇒y=50

Putting y=50 in equation (i), we get x=1300.
