Explanation:

Formulae : speed = distance / time

Logic: How to take distance on ground level and hill

Let us consider man walk on level ground and covered x km distance and on the hill is y km.

So total distance covered in one way is x+y

Total time taken by man to reach home back is 9 PM - 3 PM i.e, 6 Hrs

When man starts walking on a level road then he takes x/4 Hrs

then on up hills y/3 Hrs

When he starts to walk back to the home he is moving down the hill and takes y/6 Hrs and then level ground x/4 Hrs

Total time taken by a man is

x/4 + y/3 + y/6 + x/4 = 6

x/2 + y/2 = 6

x + y = 12

So, the correct choice is 12 Km
