As the ball is thrown vertically upwards, v= 0m/s

u=20m/s , t= 1 sec , m=2kg , g= -10m/s

v^2 = u^2 +2as

0^2 = 20^2 + 2(-10)(s)

0= 400 + (-20s)

0 = 400 -20s

20s =400

s=400/20

=20 m

Potential energy = mgh

PE= 2 * 10 *20

= 400 kg m^2/ s^2

= 400 Joules
