Step-by-step explanation:

Given A man travelled 2560 km in which some part of the journey he travelled by aeroplane, some by ship and rest by car. Ratio of time taken by man was 1:4:5 respectively. Ratio of their avg speed was 20:1:8. If avg speed during whole journey was 64 km/hr. Find avg speed of ship

  • Given
  •        Total distance travelled = 2560 km
  •           So Distance = Time x Speed
  •        Ratio of time spent = 1 : 4 : 5
  •        Ratio of speed = 20 : 1 : 8
  •   Therefore Ratio of time x speed
  •                     = 20 x 1 : 4 x 1 : 5 x 8
  •                     = 20 : 4 : 40
  •  Now sum of the ratios will be
  •                      = 20 + 4 + 40
  •                      = 64
  • Therefore Distance covered by ship will be
  •                        = 2560 x 4 / 64
  •                        = 160 kms
