Step-by-step explanation:

Let distance travelled by bus be X

Then distance travelled by car will be 200 - X

(as total distance travelled by him us given to be 200km and the distance is travelled partly by bus and car)

V = s/t

t = s/v

Total time taken = 4 hours

Let time taken by bus = t1 = X/v1

and time taken by car = t2 = (200 - X)/v2

V1 = 30km/hr and V2 = 70 km/hr

t1 + t2 = t =

X/30 + (200 - X)/70 = 4

7X/210 + 3(200 - X)/210 = 4

7X + 600 - 3X = 4 × 210 = 840

4X = 840 - 600 = 240

X = 240/4 = 60

So distance travelled by bus = X = 60 km

and distance travelled by car = 200 - X = 200 - 60 = 140 km
