A man travelled 3/5 of his journey by rail , 1/4 by taxi 1/8 by a bus and the remaining 2 km on foot . What is the length of his total journey ?

Let the length of journey be x km.
Distance by rail = 3/5*x = 3x/5 km
Distance by taxi = 1/4*x = x/4 km
Distance by bus = 1/8*x = x/8 km
Distance by foot= 2 km
3x/5+x/4+x/8+2 = x
3x/5+x/4+x/8-x = -2
Taking LCM of 5,4 and 8
(24x+10x+5x-40x)/40=-2
-x/40=-2
x=80 km
Length of total journey = 80 km
