A man travelled a distance of 22km in one hour partly in a car at a speed of 30km/hour and partly on a motorcycle at 18km/hour.find the distance travelled by him in the car

let the time travell by him in car be x.hr

then time travelled by bike=1-x hr

so total distance covered =speed×time

=30×x +(1-x )×18

=12x+18

given total distance covered by him =22km

comparing the two eqn.

we got

12x+18=22

12x=4

x=1/3

so distance travelled by car would be 30×1/3 = 10km
