Hey.

Here is the answer.

Total distance travelled =90 km

Total time taken =9 h

Let x km is travelled on foot

speed on foot = 8km/h

so, time taken on foot = x/8

Distance travelled on bicycle=90-x km

speed of bicycle=17km/h

so, time taken by bicycle=(90-x)/17 h

According to question,

x/8 + (90-x)/17 = 9

or, (17x + 720 - 8x)/136=9

or, 9x + 720 = 136×9

or, x + 80 = 136 {division by 9}

so, x = 136 - 80 = 56 km

So, distance travelled on foot is 56 km.

Thanks.
