Answer:

time taken to cover 100m by 10m/s speed=10 sec

and 5m/s will be 20 sec

total time =30sec

total distance=200

so avg speed = 200/30 m/s

=20/3 or 6.667 m/sec

Given:-

1) A man travels 100m distance with a speed of 10m/s

   ∴D1 = 100m,   S1 = 10m/s

2) again a man travels 100m distance in 5m/s .

  ∴ D2 = 100m, S2 = 5m/s

To Find:-  Average speed of the man?

Solution:-

Speed = Distance/Time

∴  Time = Distance/Speed.

∴ A  Time for man travels 100m distance with a speed of 10m/s

     T1 = 100/10 = 10sec

∴Time for man travels 100m distance with a speed of 5m/s

     T2 = 100/5 = 20sec

∴Total time is taken by a man

      T1 + T2 = T

10sec + 20sec = 30sec

Total distance traveled by a man

      D1 + D2 = D

    100 + 100 = 200

→Average Speed =Total Distance Travelled/Total Time Taken

 ∴ 200/30 = 6.66m/s

Answer:- The Average speed of the man is 6.66 m/s.
