A man travels 3 miles,turns left and travels 6 miles,then left again and travels 8 miles. How far is he from the starting point?

North = 3km +1km = 4km.

5km East - 2km West = 3km East

Pythagorean theorem states A squared + B squared = C squared.

3 squared + 4 Squared = 5 squared

9km + 16km = 25km

The square root of 25km = 5km

The man is 5km east of his starting point
