a man Travels 370 km partly by train and partly by car if we covers 250 km by train and the rest by car it takes in 4 hours but if he travels 130 km by train and the rest by car it takes him 18 minutes longer find the speed of the train and that of the car

Total distance = 370 km
Let the speed of the train and the car be x and y respectively.
First case :250/x+120/y = 4
Second case : 130/x+240/y = 4+3/10 (since it takes 18 mins longer)
130/x+240/y = 43/10
Therefore by taking 1/x as u and 1/y as v you can solve the 2 given equations.
Ans. speed of train = 100 kmph and speed of car = 80kmph
