Explanation:

Given

by train

distance= 600km

speed= 80km/hr

then, time= 600/80hr

= 15/2hr

by ship

distance= 800km

speed= 40km/hr

then, time= 800/40

=20hr

by aeroplane

distance=500km

speed= 400km/hr

then, time= 500/400hr

= 5/4

by car

distance= 100km

speed= 50km/hr

then, time= 100/50hr

= 2hr

Average speed = Total distance / Total time .

Total distance= (600+800+500+100)

= 2000km

Total time= (15/2 + 20 + 5/4 + 2)

= 123/4

Average speed= 2000×4/123

= 8000/123km/hr

= 65 whole no. 5/123
