Given data :-

  • A man travels a certain by train in 4 hours and 12 minutes at the speed of 44.8 km per hour.
  • Case : if the speed of the train is increased to 58.8 km per hour..

To find :-

  • Time taken by train to cover same distance with increase in speed.

Solution:-

Here, we know

→ 1 hour = 60 minute

Hence,

→ 12 minute = { 12/60 } hour

→ 12 minute = { 1/5 } hour

→ 12 minute = 0.2 hour

According to given

A man travels a certain by train in 4.2 hour at the speed of 44.8 km/hr.

Now, we use formula of speed to find distance covered by train.

→ speed = distance/time

→ 44.8 = distance/4.2

→ distance = 44.8 × 4.2

→ distance = 188.16 km

Now, to find time taken by train to cover 188.16 km distance with increase in speed 58.8 km/hr.

→ speed = distance/time

→ 58.8 = 188.16/time

→ time = 188.16/58.8

→ time = 16/5

→ time = 3.2 hour

Hence, train take 3.2 hour to cover same distance with speed 58.8 km/hr.

{Hence, train take 3 hour and 12 minute to cover same distance with speed 58.8 km/hr.}
