Answer:

Given: A man travels a certain distance by train in 4 hrs and 12 min at the speed of 44.8 km per hour.

Speed of the train is increased to 58.8 km per hour.

Let the time taken by train be z hrs.

According to the question,

Distance = Time ×Speed

=> (252 x 44.8) = z x 58.8

=> z= 11289.6/58.8 = 192

Hence,

Time taken = 192 minutes or 3 hours and 12 minutes.

or

Time =4hr 12 min =4.2hr

And speed= 44.8km/h

Distance =44.8x4.2=188.16km

===>Distance =speed ×time

The distance covered by train is 188.16km

Distance =188.16km

Speed=58.8km/h =>Time=distance/speed

Time =188.16/58.8=3.2

3.2 hr =3hr 12 min
