total displacement is 3.7m

lasya91020: How?

first it will cover 1.2m towards east and than 2m towards south and 4.5m towards east so its distance will be whole magnitude 7.7m but displacement is the shortest path travelled so first it will go 1.2m towards east and than directly go 4.5m towards east.

by solving with pythagorag theorem
P^{2} + B^{2} = H^{2}
 \sqrt{P^{2} + B^{2}}  = H
 \sqrt{2^{2}  + 4.5^{2}} = 5 (approx)
5+1.2=6.2m
so its magnitude displacement will be 6.2m
