Given:

  • A man use 5/9 of his land for growing mangoes, 2/5for growing bananas and remaining 24 hectares for growing oranges.

To Find:

  • (A) How much land does he use have
  • (B) How much land does he use for growing mangoes ?

Solution:

(A)

  • Let the Total land be = x hectares
  • Mango growing land = 5x/9
  • Bananas growing land = 2x/5

Now, Total land used

➠ 5x/9 + 2x/5

➠ (5/9 + 2/5)x

➠ 43x/45

Land for growing oranges

➠ x - 43x/45

➠ 2x/45

➠ 2x/45 = 24

➠ 2x = 45 × 24

➠ x = 12 × 45

➠ x = 540

Hence, the man has 540 hectares of land

(B) Land for growing mangoes

➠ (540 × 5/9) hectares

➠ (60 × 5) hectares

300 hectares land is used for growing mangoes.

☀️ Given that, a man used 5/9 of his land for growing mangoes, 2/5 for growing bananas and remaining 24 hectares for growing oranges.

❍ Let's say that,

Total land = ' x ' hectares

Mango land = ( 5x/9 ) hectares

Banana land = ( 2x/5 ) hectares

⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

A/Q,

  • Mango land + Banana land + Orange land = Total land

⤳  5x/9 + 2x/5 + 24 = x

⤳  43x/45 + 24 = x

⤳ x - 43x/45  = 24

⤳ 45x/45 -43x/45 = 24

⤳ 2x/45 = 24

⤳ 2x = 24 × 45

⤳ x = 24 × 45 ÷ 2

⤳ x = 12 × 45

⤳ x = 540

✇ T H E R E F O R E,

  • Land for mangoes = 5x/9

⤳ 5 × 540/9

⤳ 2700/9

⤳ 300/1

⤳ 300

⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

  • Henceforth, the total land he had was 540 hectares and the land used for growing mangoes was 300 hectares.
