A man uses 5/9 of his land for growing mangoes 2/5 for growing bananas remaining 24 hectares for growing oranges

Let us consider that the man has x hectare land.

Then, mango growing land = 5x/9

and banana growing land = 2x/5

So, total land, used

= 5x/9 + 2x/5 hectares

= (5/9 + 2/5)x hectares

= (25 + 18)x/45 hectares

= 43x/45 hectares

Thus, land left for growing oranges

= x - 43x/45 hectares

= (45x - 43x)/45 hectares

= 2x/45 hectares

By the given condition,

2x/45 = 24

⇒ 2x = 24 × 45

⇒ x = 12 × 45

⇒ x = 540

Thus, the man has 540 hectares land.

Again, the man uses

= (540 × 5/9) hectares

= (60 × 5) hectares

= 300 hectares land for growing mangoes.
