so, time = (2x/3)/4 h

Rest 1/3 rd of d with 5kmph

so, time = (x/3)/5 h

As, total time = 42 min = 42/60 h

or, 42/60 = 2x/12 + x/15

or, 42/60 = (10x + 4x)/60

or, 42 = 14x

or, x = 42/14 = 3 km
