A man walks 20 metre at an angle 60 degree north of East.How fair Towers East has he travelled ​

Distance, d=20 m

\theta=60^{\circ}

To find:

Distance traveled by man in east direction

Solution:

In triangle OAB

OB=20 m

Cos\theta=\frac{Base}{hypotenuse}

Using the formula

Cos60=\frac{OA}{OB}

\frac{1}{2}=\frac{OA}{20}

Where Cos60=\frac{1}{2}

\frac{1}{2}\times 20=OA

OA=10 m

Hence, he has traveled 10 m in east direction.
