We know that Pythagorean Theorem states that for a right triangle, $a^{2}+b^{2}=c^{2}$

Where a and b are the sides adjacent to the right angel.

Here, a=3, b=4 and need to solve c

Hence we can say,

$a^{2}+b^{2}=c^{2}$

$3^{2}+4^{2}=c^{2}$

$9+16=c^{2}$

$25=c^{2}$

So, the distance is 5 km .
