Solution:

We know that Pythagorean Theorem states that for a right triangle, a^{2}+b^{2}=c^{2}

Where a and b are the sides adjacent to the right angel.

Here, a=3, b=4 and need to solve c

Hence we can say,

a^{2}+b^{2}=c^{2}

3^{2}+4^{2}=c^{2}

9+16=c^{2}

25=c^{2}

So, the distance is 5 km .
