Suppose a man covers x distance by walking and then returns x distance by riding in 3 3/4 hours that is 3 hours 45 minutes
Again a man covers 2x distance in 2 1/2 hours that is 2 hours and 30 mins. by riding both ways
Therefore one-way riding time required by the man is half of (2 hours and 30 mins.) that is 1 hour and 15 minutes
So, the time taken up by the man to cover x distance by walking is (3 hours 45 minutes - 1 hour 15 mins.
That is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
So the time required to cover the 2x distance by walking by the man is 2 X(2 hours 30 minutes.)
So the time required is 5 hours.
