Let him walk for x mt.=x/60 hr

Then he runs for 50-x mt. =(50-x)/60 hr. It is given

6×(x/60)+8×{(50-x)/60}=6

6x+8(50-x)=6×60=360

6x+400-8x=360

-2x=360-400=-40

x=20
