given

the man travels at the speed of 6km for first 1 km

then time will be

1/6

the speed for another 1 km is 12km/hr.

then the time will be

1/12

so the total time required will be

1/6 + 1/12 = 3/12 = 1/4

AVERAGE SPEED = TOTAL DISTANCE ÷TOTAL TIME.

THEN AVERAGE SPEED = 2/1/4

THUS AVERAGE SPEED = 8KM/HR

Answer:

Given = v1 = 6km/h

s1 = 1km

t1=?

v2= 12km/h

s2= 1km

t2=?

vav = ?

now ,. v1=s1/t1

=> t1= s1/v1

t1= 1/6 h....

now = v2=s2/t2

=> t2=s2/v2

t2 = 1/12 h...

vav= s1+s2/t1+t2

vav= 1+1/ 1/6 + 1/12

now..... 2/3/12

2/3* 12

24/3 = 8km/h is the average speed of the man..

thank you
