According to the question

x/4 + x/3 = 2t- (5/60)

or, x/4 + x/3 = 2x/3 - 1/12

or, x/4 - x/3 = -1/12

⇒ x/12 = 1/12

or x = 1 km

Therefore, the distance between A and B is 1 km.
