a man walks on a straight road from his home to a market 2.5km away with a speed of 5km/h. finding the market closed ,he instantly turns and walks back home with spped of 7.5km/h . the average speed of man over the interval of time 0 to 40 min is equal to:

t1= 2.5 km/ 5kmhr= 30 min

t2= 2.5/7.5= 20min

Total time= 30+20=50min

In time 0- 40min

Speed= 7.5km/hr ( since he would be returning at that time)

Distance= 2.5 km ( already given

Now, net distance= speed x time= 7.5x10/60= 1.25

Total distance= 2.5+1.25=3.75

Avg speed = total distance / total time= 3.75/40/60= 5.625km
