a man wanted to get into his work building but he had forgotten his codes. However he did remember five clues . The fifth digit plus the third digit equals 14. The fourth digit is one more than the second digit . The first digit is one less than the twice the second digit . The second digit plus the third digit equals ten. The sum of all five digits 30.

Firstly let the second digit be x
So according to the given condition,
First digit = 2x -1
and
fourth = x + 1

Since we don't know the value of third and fifth let third be y and fifth be z

Now given
Third + fifth = 14
=> y + z = 14 ............ (i)

And second given that
second + third = 10
x + y = 10 ............. (ii)

Now given
sum of all five digits is 30
=> 2x - 1 + x + y + x + 1 + z = 30
=> 4x + y + z = 30
Using equation (i) we have y + z = 14
=> 4x + 14 = 30
4x = 30 - 14
4x = 16
x = 16 ÷ 4
x = 4

Now we know the value of x
First digit = 2x - 1
= 2 × 4 - 1
= 8 - 1 = 7

Second digit = x = 4

Fourth = x + 1 = 4 + 1 = 5

Now we have to find out more third and fifth.

We know that third is y and fifth is z
from equation (ii)
x + y = 10
=> 4 + y = 10
y = 10 - 4
y = 6
Now third digit is = y = 6

Now from equation (i)
y + z = 14
6 + z = 14
z = 14 - 6
z = 8


So the digits are
First = 7
Second = 4
Third = 6
Fourth = 5
Fifth = 8
