A man wants to put carpet in the triangular showroom. He knows the width of the room is 3 metres more than 1/3 the length of the room. If the length of the room is 21 metres, how many square metres of carpet does he need ?

Length = 21m

Width = 21/3 + 3 = 7 + 3 = 10m..

Area of room = 1/2 × l× b = 1/2 × 10 × 21 = 105m

Therefore area of carpet required = 105m..

Hope it helps..
Thanks
