- Money paid for present days = P
- Money deducted for absent days = A
Given :-
- Money paid for present day = ₹ 500
- Money deducted for absent day = ₹ 100
- Monthly salary received by the man = ₹ 9200
Solution :-
- To calculate the no of days he work, at first we have to set up equation. Then calculate the value of P and A by solving equations.
Calculation begins :-
⇒ Present days + Absent days = Months of February
⇒ P + A = 28----------(i)
⇒ Money received for present days - Money deducted for absent days = Months of the salary of the man.
⇒ 500(P) - 100(A) = 9200
⇒ 500P - 100A = 9200-------(ii)
- Now multiplying by 500 in eq (I) then subtract :-]
⇒ 500P + 500A = 14000
⇒ 500P - 100A = 9200
- By solving we get here :-]
⇒ 600A = 4800 ⇒ 6A = 48 ⇒ A = 8
- Putting the value of A = 8 in eq (i) :-]
⇒ P + A = 28
⇒ P + 8 = 28
⇒ P = 28 - 8
⇒ P = 20

- The man work in the month of February = 20 days

- Money paid for the given days be =x.
- Money which is deducted for absent days be=y.
Here,
- We should add both present and absent days first that is ;
- Month of February =Absent days+Present days.
x+y=28 (i ).
- According to the given question we should subtract
- The month salary of the man = Money which is taken for present days- Money which is deducted for absent days .
- 500 (x)-100 (y)=9200
- We can write it as,
- 500x-100y=9200.
- If we want to get answer we should multiply 500 in the given first equation and subtract it.
- This becomes,
- 500x+500y=14000
- 500x-100y =9200
- +600y=4800
- y=4800/600
- y=8.
- Applying the value of y in eqn (i) we get that,
x+y=28(y=8)
- x+8=28
- x =28-8
- x =20.
Therefore ,
- In month of February the man work in 20 days.
