The work done by the man and his power is 49 kJ and 163.354 watts respectively.

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of the man is 48 kg and the mass of the bag that he carries on his head is 2 kg.

Height of the building, h = 100 m

Time taken, t = 5 min = 300 s

When an object climbs to a certain height, the work done him is given by :

W=mgh

W=(48+2)\times 9.8\times 100

W = 49000 Joules

or

W = 49 kJ

The work done divided by time is called its power. It is given by :

P=\dfrac{49000}{300}

P = 163.354 watts

So, the work done by the man and his power is 49 kJ and 163.354 watts respectively.
