A man weighing 60kg runs along the rails with velocity of 18km/h and jumps into a car of mass 100kg standing on the rails.calculate the velocity with which the car starts travelling along the rails.

m¹=60kg,m²=100kg,u¹=18km/hr,u²=0
according to linear momentum

m¹×u¹+m²×u²=m¹×v¹+m²×v²
60×18+100×0=v(60+100=160)
1080=160v
v=18km/hr
