It’s an example of inelastic collision.
m₁u₁ + m₂u₂ = (m₁ + m₂)v
(60 kg × 18 × 5/18 m/s) + (1000 kg × 0 m/s) = (60 kg + 1000 kg) v
v = [300 kgm/s] / [1060 kg]
v = 0.283 m/s
Car will start moving with a velocity 0.283 m/s
m₁u₁ + m₂u₂ = (m₁ + m₂)v
(60 kg × 18 × 5/18 m/s) + (1000 kg × 0 m/s) = (60 kg + 1000 kg) v
v = [300 kgm/s] / [1060 kg]
v = 0.283 m/s
Car will start moving with a velocity 0.283 m/s
